Entry is Optional

Most of the places I encounter do not have any negative sense about them, but sometimes, there is the feeling that memories, and painful ones at that, continue to inhabit the place.

This is one of these places, and for almost a year, I have held this image back, not feeling it was appropriate to post because of the negative emotion I felt as I was shooting it. But I have decided now to post it, because while that sense of pain is contained in the scene, it still represents part of the continuum of human emotion. To repress it, in a way negates part of the experience of this place in its long history.

Not all that we feel and experience is positive, and sometimes we need to allow that which is painful a place to exist, so the healing can begin.
