I really like the warm colours in the grass at this time of year and the overall quality of light. The colour contrast between the clouds and the land provides an added interest for me.
Once again I had to wait for the right conditions. I needed some additional hight, so I took the image from the back of a 4x4 which it really the only way to get close to this structure unless you are prepared to walk.
I have processed the image in a "soft" way to retain detail across the spectrum.
I do like it very much for all the reasons you mentioned. Places like this make me yearn for ... something. I sometimes think it is a feeling from the person or people who built this house to live in.
Love those clouds...almost like you have your own cloud machine out there puffing them up to what ever form you desire that day. Lovely scene, all around.
