he Final Chapter

The title seemed fitting given that this is likely the last image that I will post from “The Story Barn” series.

Built in 1922 the barn stands like a beacon on the bleak prairie landscape and creates a striking beautiful vista when you come upon it. This is a family farm which makes it part of a dying breed. It is very likely that the farm will not remain in the Story family as Craig's son has taken a different profession.

Observant watchers will note that the trees to the north of the barn have been cut down. This was quite a surprise to me when I went back to take this picture, and in part contributes to this being the last image. There is still a hope that the family and barn history, involving more that the date of construction will become available if the family provides them.

For now then, this series is complete.

we will see David. If I can get the background, there may be other possibilities.

Beautiful shot and a beautiful story in its own way.
The current status of that barn and the background story brings to my mind the words of Shakespeare;

"We are such stuff as dreams are made of,
and our little lives are surrounded by the sleep." (or something like that..)

yes, I don't think there is anything for that. Simply no one wanting to carry it on.

Not something I would have ever thought of.

I think this makes a great contribution to this picture.
