Right now, a number of communities in the US are totally surrounded by water. The only thing between the people and a full scale flood are hastily constructed sand bag dikes. We hope and we wait.
In the next few weeks, this scene will be repeated as the flood tide moves north. Many communities will be cut off from the world for a week or more, but preparations have been made and the battle of man against nature will continue until finally the flow reaches the Arctic Ocean.
it took a bit to get it right. I have watching this fence line for months and taken a number of shots. yesterday I gave a presentation on my work and took a group of people out on a field trip. I came across the fence again and took some more shots. This time they seem to have worked better.
I'm listening to the wind outside as I look at this and I feel the cold. A great capture. I also like your comments. I really appreciate your empathy. In a world where so many see only themselves, it's refreshing to see thought and compassion of others in their situations. You are a good man and that is a rare commodity today. Hats off to you sir. God Bless.

We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
