Artist's Comments

I have photographed this barn many times. It is located in the center of a field, and is accessible only before and after harvest.

While the building appears simple enough, creating an image that represents its time and placement seems to defy me. I expect that it is likely that I will visit this structure again and try once more to capture its essence.

The barn is located about 1.5 miles from the US Border and forms part of the "Between Friends" Gallery

It is an interesting shot. Yes I have some locations that always draw me back as well, I keep hoping for the perfect shot.

Lovely image. It looks like an old horse barn. It was probably located there to house draft animals in the days before tractors.

Captivating shot, lovely simple "rule of thirds" type construction. Beautifully balanced exposure. Hauntingly evocative of something - past but not quite forgotten (almost mythic)? Perhaps a settlers wagon on the prairie, left behind on the way out West?? Maybe I over romanticise, but hat's what it calls to mind for me!! :D

not sure about any of that. There is also a house close by,so obviously there was a yard there at some time, but the current farmer has extended the fields to surround barn and house.
