Founded in 1892 this monastery, called Our Lady of the Prairies, was home to more than 50 Trappist monks for over 85 years. In but in 1978, as the city expanded, these reclusive monks relocated to Holland, Manitoba where they currently reside. Two years later, this church was struck with tragedy when it burned.
The guest home of the monastery is now used by the St. Norbert Arts Council. The council creates an atmosphere where creative spirits can join in retreat dedicated to artistic expression, site stewardship and community life. FULL VIEW A MUST |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces.
