FULL VIEW IS RECOMMENDED

Most of the places I encounter do not have any negative sense about them, but sometimes, there is the feeling that memories, and painful ones at that, continue to inhabit the place.

This is one of these places, and for almost a year, I have held this image back, not feeling it was appropriate to post becasue of the negative emotion I felt as I was shooting it. But I have decided now to post it, because while that sense of pain is contained in the scene, it still represents part of the continuum of human emotion. To repress it, in a way negates part of the experience of this place in its long history.

Not all that we feel and experience is positive, and sometimes we need to allow that which is painful a place to exist, so the healing can begin.

Thank you to everyone who views and appreciates this work, I have allowed a larger view so that the details will be visible

My first thought:
Someone was murdered there and after that nobody came again to this house and it let to be rotten down until you captured it.
And now the time stands still with one and the same kind of emotion: discomfort

no names, no places - only faces... *monotheism

It's a great photo; sorry about the memories that are tied to it.

There are places that emit negative feeling...Why do you figure this place shared those with you?

This does have a negative, almost haunting feel to it Wayne. A work well done is one that draws out emotions - positive or negative.

the memories are not mine. They seem to inhabit the place.

There was a definite sense of discomfort or dis-ease about this place when I was there. I certainly could not put my finger on it. There is of course the possibility that perhaps it was just my own inner feelings. And considering that I know nothing about the history of this yard, one must consider that as a legitimate possibility.
