Our world produces enough food for everyone, even for those who live in drought areas. The problems with hunger are more related to: wealth acquisition (or power), long term storage and distribution.

The first is easily understood, there are those in our world who hoard the worlds wealth for their own gain in wealth or power.

The second issue is that often proper storage is not available to ensure that food keeps for those periods where it is not being grown, and the last issue is that food is not often brought to the areas of greatest needs, often because of the first two reasons.

I think we need to begin to look at ourselves as the "Family of Man" in which every person has a right to the basics of life. Only then will the issues of wealth, power and hunger be able to be addressed.

Finally here is a little known fact for you. The Septuagint (LXX) is a very old Greek translation of the Old Testament. In the Book of Genesis, God tells man to go forth and multiply. BUT... what is often not understood or even explained, is that this text does not say to fill the world beyonds its capacity, rather within its capacity. As a result, whether we accept this source as truth or not, the lesson is clear, and we each have a responsibility to care for our world and to ensure that we do not destroy it through over population, pollution, greed or any other action that takes from our natural environment.

Beautifully stated. And damn that photo...it doesn't even look real. Like some elaborate "realistic-painting-render" or something.

Must it all be either less or more / Either plain or grand / Is it always "or" / Is it never "and"?
:iconthaumadzo:
thank you very much, I have been trying for some time to move beyond the "usual" photo to something beyond. Your comment suggests that I am going in the right direction.

thanks,

The concept has been in my head for a long time, even before I took the picture but I could not get the ideas from my head onto p[aper. In my mind they kind of go inseparably together. I am not sure one would have much meaning without the other. You comment suggest that perhaps the whole concept idea has come together OK.

When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead. True story.

On the contrary Eugenio,

when someone :+fav:'s my work it tells me it is appreciated. It helps me stay on track, and it helps me push the envelope and improve. So as always it is very much appreciated.
